Marshall Rawlings graduated from Colorado College with a BS in Economics. Rawlings first launched his career producing action sports films for ESPN in Salt Lake City. Marshall moved to Santa Monica CA and entered the film business. Soon after, he assumed the Executive Producer roles at Propaganda Films and later, Anonymous Content. Rawlings has over ten years of experience as a freelance producer, working with renowned directors: Sam Bayer, Mark Romanek, Malcolm Venville, Jhoan Camitz, Bryan Singer, and Doug Limon.
Marshall Rawlings established Alturas Films in 2004 as a commercial production house specializing in bringing feature directors to commercials. In founding Alturas Films, Rawlings recruited award-winning directors Darren Aronofsky (REQUIEM FOR A DREAM, THE FOUNTAIN), , Teton Gravity, Shekhar Kapur (FOUR FEATHERS, ELIZABETH), Malcolm Lee (THE BEST MAN, UNDERCOVER BROTHER), Jonathan Mostow (TERMINATOR 3, U-571, SUB-MARINER), Arie Posin (CHUMSCRUBBER), Joel Schumacher (PHONE BOOTH, FALLING DOWN TIGERLAND and THE NUMBER 23), and Michael Mann (HEAT, COLLATERAL, THE INSIDER).
Rawlings extensive experience and wide network of contacts in commercials and films are the essential components in bringing Alturas to the forefront of the industry. Client spot credits include spots for VERIZON, SPRINT, NY Department of Education, The Montana Meth Project, NIKE, AT&T, NAVY, and Ford.
Rawlings has a broad knowledge of marketing and branding and has spent the better part of his career marketing/selling products and concepts. . Marshall is an active cyclist and has participated in the FireFlies West and Fireflies Euro the last two years raising funds for the City of Hope and LUEKA. He likes to chase snow and grew up in the mountains of Idaho
